Beyond the Range Professional Experience Grant

​​​​Our Beyond the Range Professional Experience Grant supports you to experience living and teaching in a priority community across:

• Central Queensland
• Darling Downs–South West
• Far North
• North Queensland regions.

Why you should apply

You could receive one grant up to $5,000 to assist with travel and accommodation for you to undertake your professional experience placement during Semester 2, 2021. 

Who the grant is for

To apply for a grant, you must:

• be currently enrolled in your third or fourth year of an undergraduate Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program or your first or second year of a postgraduate ITE program at an Australian university or tertiary institution
• be planning to undertake a placement on a Queensland Government state school campus that is located:
1. at least 120 minutes travel each way from your primary residence while at university
2. within a priority community in our Central Queensland (PDF, 2.3MB), Darling Downs–South West (PDF, 2.3MB), Far North Queensland (PDF, 1.7MB) or North Queensland region (PDF, 1.2MB)
   

• provide evidence of a valid Queensland Working with Children Blue Card with currency during the placement.

Applications are processed in the order they are received and may be prioritised by transfer rating 7 to 4.

How to apply

For placements between 12 July to 10 December 2021, head to the Smart Jobs website.

Step 1: Gather the supporting documents that you need to submit with your application – as outlined in the Supporting Documentation Checklist(under ‘documents’).

Step 2: Log into your Smart Jobs account and submit your application.

Applications for Semester 2, 2021 will close 17 December 2021.
