Pay and benefits

If you decide to come and teach with us, in addition to your starting salary and dependant on location, you may be eligible for paid relocation for you and your family, permanent employment, financial benefits to teach in a rural or remote location and subsidised accommodation. You’ll also have access to professional development opportunities and salary packaging.

Recognition of prior service

When you relocate to Queensland, you are eligible to have a salary assessment to recognise qualifications, knowledge and experience you’ve gained outside of the Queensland state school system. You’ll need to provide your prior service details for recognition of this service within a month of commencement.

Teacher registration

If you want to work as a teacher in Queensland, it is a legal requirement that you are registered with the Queensland College of Teachers. If you are already registered as a teacher in another Australian state or territory, or other country, you may be able to apply for registration under mutual recognition arrangements.
